Green Stamp For Jet Towel Hand Dryer in UK and US

he Mitsubishi Jet Towel Electric Hand Dryer has been awarded GreenSpec approval in both the UK and US, following a rigorous assessment of its energy conservation and waste-free operation.

Jet Towel is a high technology alternative to conventional hot air hand dryers. Instead of using heat to evaporate moisture from just-washed hands, it uses a high velocity air stream to blast it off, reducing drying times from about a minute to around 10-12 seconds. The electrical energy used per operation is about 10 per cent that of a hot air dryer, due to its high efficiency cutting edge brushless motor.

GreenSpec is an online product listing of environmentally preferable products used in building, building services, facilities management and related fields. Its aim is to provide accurate, unbiased, and timely information designed to help building and facility industry professionals and policy makers improve the environmental performance, and reduce the adverse impacts of buildings. The editors perform their own reviews of products submitted for approval, rather than relying on manufacturers’ claims.

“GreenSpec originated in Seattle, Washington – one of the greenest cities in the world – and is highly regarded throughout the United States,” explains Fawn Litchfield of Mitsubishi in the UK. “The UK site is newer and building the same reputation.”

“I was delighted when we got the confirmation of our listings on what must be one of the most definitive guides to green products in the world.”

As well as its environmental credentials the Jet Towel hand dryer is fast becoming recognised for its low cost operation, its quiet operation and the discretely elegant appearance.
